Emily White asked me to post this....
Hey all,
I'm currently recruiting performers/brigaders for the band's Jan. and Feb. run. This includes the following cities:
Tempe
Santa Barbara
Sacramento
San Jose
New Haven
Philadelphia
Providence
Portland, ME
We'd love to have any and all levels of help. This ranges from living statues, to decorating, to professional burlesque acts.
As usual, our stipulations are:
--No fire inside the club (in fact, no fire outside of venues either unless
approved by me and the city fire marshal)
--No on-stage acts
--All performers must be approved by me beforehand
Otherwise, go nuts with your creativity!! Please contact me with ideas and inquiries.
See you all soon!

PS--If you've contacted me already, don't worry, i haven't forgotten. I'll be sending out more details shortly......

that does not seem very usual to me.
seems like a totally new stipulation, in fact.

Re: brigade recruiting from Em
Tue, January 11, 2005 - 12:52 PMi think it means pretty much dont assume youll have the stage to act... im sure they only want well thought out and approved and planned things to happen on stage...
maybe im just wrong though...

Tue, January 11, 2005 - 1:31 PMsure.....that "stipulation" is limiting tho. i've had a number of performers do tremendous things with the stage in l.a. -

Re: brigade recruiting from Em
Sat, January 15, 2005 - 10:34 AMi think that has always been there... it just that they dont want any two bit asshole expecting they will be able to use the stage to perform.

Re: brigade recruiting from Em
Sat, January 15, 2005 - 11:10 AMIt's pretty much a general guideline. Usually it's hard to tell what the time frame will look like, what the venue will allow, how big the stage is, the performance - a whole bunch of factors.
If someone has something that sounds really really good, we'll try to get them on stage at least briefly, but we seldom have the ability to make promises, and as much as we would *love* to get many things on stage, it can be very difficult at times, and takes alot of people bouncing around behind the scenes trying to figure things out, both on and off site until the last second, and can be frustrating.
So, that - as well as what Johnny said, is pretty much it, to the best of my understanding and a wee bit of experience...
